THE PURPOSE OF THE CAMP ALGONA POW PROJECT, INC., IS TO PRESERVE EXISTING INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRISONER OF WAR CAMP, RESEARCH AND LOCATE DATA, LOCATE TANGIBLE ITEMS, AND PROCURE FUNDING FOR A MUSEUM.

THE ORGANIZATION PURCHASED A BUILDING IN 2004 AND CREATED A MUSEUM WHICH IS OPEN TO DISPLAY THE COLLECTION OF ARTIFACTS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO DEVELOPED A BROCHURE TO PROMOTE THE MUSEUM AND CREATED A NEWSLETTER WHICH IS ISSUED TO MEMBERS. IN ADDITION, A WEBSITE WAS DEVELOPED WHICH PROMOTES THE MUSEUM AND THE ORGANIZATION'S OVERALL PURPOSE. THE ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED FIELD TRIPS TO AREA SCHOOLS AND OTHER LOCAL GROUPS AS WELL.
