TUG MCGRAW YOUNTVILLE PROGRAMS-BRAIN WELLNESSTHE TUG MCGRAW FOUNDATION PROVIDES WELLNESS PROGRAMS FOR RESIDENTS AT THE YOUNTVILLE VETERANS HOME OF CALIFORNIA. EACH PROGRAM HELPS VETERANS IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH'S PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, AND SPIRITUAL COMPONENTS. QUALITY OF LIFE ENHANCEMENT IS OUR GOAL FOR AS MANY RESIDENTS AS POSSIBLE. CREATING SUSTAINABLE PROGRAMS AROUND EXERCISE, HEALTHY EATING, AND SOCIALIZATION IN TURN CREATES A COMMUNITY SUPPORT SYSTEM TO HELP BETTER ACHIEVE ONES WELLNESS GOALS. IN 2021, TMF WAS LIMITED DUE TO PANDEMIC POLICIES IN HAVING VISITORS AND VOLUNTEERS. TO PREPARE FOR A ROBUST 2022 AND 2023, TMF MADE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE GARDEN THROUGH THE HOME DEPOT FOUNDATION GRANT AND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY NAPA-SOLANO. TMFS MIXED NUTTS SOFTBALL PROGRAM ADAPTED AND PLAYED GAMES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DISTANCED. THE HIGHLIGHT FOR 2021, MERISTEM SCHOOL, A PROGRAM DEDICATED TO YOUNG ADULTS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM CREATED A PROGRAM TO COME AND PLAY THE HOMES TEAM. FOR MANY, IT WAS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO BE ON A FIELD AND HOLD A GLOVE. CHANNEL 2 SPORTS DIRECTOR MARK IBANEZ EMCEED THE GAME AS THE HOMES ALL-VETERAN TEAM TAUGHT THEM HOW TO PLAY. TMFS CREATIVE BRAIN PROGRAM CONTINUED TO OFFER NEW WAYS TO COMMUNICATE (OFFSITE), AND RESIDENTS WERE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUNTVILLES SIP-N-STROLL AND SELL THERE. THEY ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE OCTOBER PARADE, WHERE THEY BUILT A FLOAT AND WON 2ND PLACE. IN THE FALL OF 2021, TMF ALLOWED THE RESIDENTS TO PRESERVE (THROUGH ART) THE MEMORIAL GROVE TREES THAT WERE BEING REMOVED TO MAKE WAY FOR THE NEW SNF BUILDING.
