ISSUE PROJECT ROOM PRESENTS PROJECTS BY INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTISTS THAT EXPAND THE BOUNDARIES OF ARTISTIC PRACTICE AND STIMULATE CRITICAL DIALOGUE IN THE BROADER COMMUNITY. ISSUE SERVES AS A LEADING CULTURAL INCUBATOR, FACILITATING THE COMMISSION AND PREMIERE OF INNOVATIVE NEW WORKS SPANNING GENRES OF MUSIC, DANCE, LITERATURE AND FILM. DURING 2021, ISSUE COMMISSIONED MULTIPLE WORKS AND PRESENTED NUMEROUS EVENTS BRINGING RECOGNITION TO CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS WHOSE IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ARTISTIC FIELD ARE UNDERREPRESENTED. LIVE EVENTS WERE PRESENTED THROUGHOUT THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020 AT ISSUE'S 22 BOERUM THEATER. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, ISSUE'S FINAL IN-PERSON EVENT WITH AUDIENCE IN ATTENDANCE OCCURRED ON MARCH 12, 2020. ALL SCHEDULED EVENTS AFTER THIS DATE WERE CANCELED OR POSTPONED. SINCE THAT TIME, ISSUE HAS COORDINATED ALL PROGRAMS AS FREE ONLINE STREAMS. BETWEEN APRIL 1, 2020 AND DECEMBER 2021, 2020 ISSUE PRESENTED 45 EVENTS ONLINE. OF THESE, A A SMALL NUMBER WERE RECORDED IN-PERSON WITH ONLY ARTISTS AND TECHNICAL STAFF PRESENT WITH A HANDFUL LIVE STREAMED, BUT MOST BEING PRE-RECORDED AND EDITED PRIOR TO PRESENTATION. IN AUGUST 2020, ISSUE HOSTED INSTALLATION OF A WORK BY ARTIST LAURIE SPIEGEL, COORDINATED BY SETH CLUETT. THE DESIGN OF THE INSTALLATION WAS CRAFTED CAREFULLY WITHIN THE SCOPE OF OUR APPROVED COVID SAFETY PLAN. A SELECTION OF ISSUE'S AUDIENCE (MEMBERS AND TICKET BUYERS FROM THE ORIGINAL EVENT, SLATED FOR LATE-MARCH 2020) WERE INVITED TO RSVP TO EXPERIENCE THE INSTALLATION. A MAXIMUM OF FIVE PRE-REGISTERED GUESTS COULD VISIT AT A TIME WITH STRICT SOCIAL DISTANCING IN PLACE, AND THE VISITOR TIME SLOTS WERE SPACED OUT SUCH THAT THERE WAS AMPLE TIME FOR CLEANING BETWEEN EACH INTERVAL. NO OTHER EVENTS INVOLVED IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE.
