THE ASSOCIATION IS DEDICATED TO ENHANCING AND PROMOTING THE COMMUNITY KNOWN AS DUMBO ( DOWN UNDER THE MANHATTAN BRIDGE OVERPASS)IN THE BOROUGH OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK. THE ASSOCIATION SHOWCASES DUMBO AS A WORLD CLASS DESTINATION AND A CENTER FOR BUSINESS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

SANITATION SERVICES:DUMBO PROVIDES THROUGH A SUB-CONTRACT WITH THE DOE FOUNDATION FOR THE CLEANING OF STREETS AND PUBLIC SPACES, WATERING OF PLANTS AND REMOVAL OF GRAFFITI IN THE DUMBO DISTRICT. DUMBOS MAINTENANCE IMPROVES AND MAINTAINS THE OVERALL APPEARANCE OF THE DISTRICT.


EVENTS AND PROGRAMMING:DUMBO FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS INCLUDING PUBLIC ART, CONCERTS, MOVIES, AND FAMILY FESTIVALS. UNDER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF NEW YORK, DUMBO IS ALLOWED TO USE PEARL PLAZA FOR THESE EVENTS AS LONG AS THE REVENUES RAISED AT THESE EVENTS THROUGH CONCESSIONS GO BACK INTO MAINTENANCE OF PEARL PLAZA. DUMBO SUB-CONTRACTS THE MAINTENANCE OF PEARL PLAZA THROUGH AGREEMENTS WITH DUMBO BID AND THE NYC DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.


MARKETING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:DUMBO PROVIDES FREE PUBLIC WI-FI THROUGHOUT DUMBO AS AN AMENITY TO THE PEOPLE WHO WORK, LIVE, AND VISIT DUMBO'S PUBLIC SPACES. THIS IS DONE THROUGH A CONTRACT WITH SKY PACKETS, A WIRELESS SOLUTIONS COMPANY. THE NETWORK COVERS MANY STREETS IN DUMBO, PARTS OF BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK, THE PEARL STREET TRIANGLE, AND THE ARCHWAY UNDER THE MANHATTAN BRIDGE.
