STEWART'S CARING PLACE PROVIDES A RELAXED AND CARING ENVIRONMENT FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES ON THEIR CANCER JOURNEY. OUR SERVICES ARE FREE OF CHARGE TO MORE THAN 1,800 FAMILIES A YEAR. THE PRIMARY SERVICE AREA ENCOMPASSES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO SUMMIT, STARK, PORTAGE, WAYNE, AND MEDINA COUNTIES. WE WORK WITH PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES, RACES, SOCIOECONOMIC STATUSES AND BACKGROUNDS. OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, FINANCIAL HELP, RELAXATION, WIGS AND BEAUTY, AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING. STEWARTS CARING PLACE STRIVES TO BE AN EXEMPLARY RESOURCE FOR NEEDED CANCER SUPPORT SERVICES, WHILE BEING A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION. OUR LIBRARY INCLUDES MORE THAN 3,000 RESOURCES WHICH INCLUDE BOOKS, PAMPLETS, AND BOOKLETS FROM NATIONAL AND LOCALLY-BASED HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS.- LECTURES AND WORKSHOPS: WE OFFER A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL LECTURES AND WORKSHOPS THAT ARE OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS TOUCHED BY CANCER. TOPICS INCLUDE: POST-SURGERY CONSIDERATIONS FOR ALL CANCER PATIENTS, MANAGING CANCER-RELATED FATIGURE, AND MANAGING FINANCES. - PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: ONE-ON-ONE PROFESSIONAL CONSULATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: ADULT COUNSELING, WILLS, TRUSTS AND ESTATE PLANNING, SOCIAL SECURITY AND DISABILITY, NUTRITION, AND GENTLE EXCERCISE AND MOVEMENT. - SUPPORT GROUPS: WE HAVE A WIDE ARRAY OF SUPPORT GROUPS THAT MEET REGULARLY THAT INCLUDE DIAGNOSIS-SPECIFIC GROUPS, GENERAL CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS, A CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP, BREAST AND LUNG CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS, GROUPS BASED ON SPIRITUALITY AND MORE. - CHILDREN AND FAMILY PROGRAMS: OUR CHILDREN'S PROGRAM SPECIALIST PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY CONSULTS TO CHILDREN, TEENAGERS, AND PARENTS/CAREGIVERS WHO HAVE BEEN TOUCHED BY CANCER, AND COORDINATES THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO HELP CHILDREN COPE THROUGH A CANCER JOURNEY.
