Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FILLS UNMET NEEDS IN ST. LOUIS SCHOOLS BY PROVIDING FOR THE ESSENTIALS STUDENTS LACK BUT REQUIRE FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS. FOOD INSECURITY, UNDIAGNOSED HEALTH CONDITIONS, LACK OF WINTER CLOTHING, PROPER HYGIENE AND INSUFFICIENT READING MATERIAL IN THE HOME ARE ALL EXAMPLES OF BARRIERS THAT INHIBIT STUDENT ATTENDANCE, CLASSROOM ENGAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE, AND ARE ADDRESSED BY LITTLE BIT. EMBEDDED IN SCHOOL COMMUNITIES, WITH VOLUNTEERS THAT WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH STUDENTS ACROSS EVERY GRADE LEVEL, WE ENSURE THEY ARE HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND READY TO LEARN. WE ALSO ENRICH THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WITH PROGRAMS NOT READILY AVAILABLE TO UNDERSERVED STUDENTS THAT EXPAND THEIR WORLD KNOWLEDGE, SUCH AS STEM AND CAREER PLANNING. THE RESULTS ARE STUDENTS BETTER EQUIPPED TO SUCCEED IN TODAY'S SOCIETY.
