THE AL SIGL FOUNDATION RAISES, MANAGES AND DISTRIBUTES FUNDS TO FOSTER THE GOALS OF THE AL SIGL COMMUNITY OF AGENCIES, ITS COLLABORATIVE MEMBER AGENCIES, AND THE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS WHO ARE SERVED BY THOSE AGENCIES.

THE 32ND ANNUAL AL SIGL COMMUNITY WALKABOUT RETURNED TO AN INDOOR EVENT AT EASTVIEW MALL WELCOMING FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF ALL ABILITIES. WALKERS AND ROLLERS JOINED US WITH COSTUMES, SMILES AND LAUGHTER AS THEY MADE THEIR WAY AROUND THE HALLOWEEN-THEMED ROUTE. THE EVENT WAS CAPPED OFF WITH OUR COSTUME CONTEST GIVING ALL PARTICIPANTS THEIR TIME TO SHINE AS THEY CROSSED THE STAGE PROUDLY DISPLAYING THEIR CREATIVE COSTUMES. WE WELCOMED VOLUNTEERS OF ALL AGES RANGING FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL TO COLLEGE, AND BEYOND TO HELP WITH THIS MEMORABLE MORNING CELEBRATING INCLUSION. THE EVENT PLATFORM ALLOWS AGENICES TO RAISE MONEY FOR SPECIFIC PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INDIVIDUALLY. ALONG THE ROUTE, GUESTS WERE GREETED BY REPRESENTATIVES FROM AL SIGL, CP ROCHESTER, EMPOWERING PEOPLE'S INDEPENDENCE, MEDICAL MOTOR SERVICE, NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY UPSTATE NY, ROCHESTER HEARING & SPEECH CENTER, ROCHESTER REHABILITATION, AND STARBRIDGE.
THE SPORTS CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT CELEBRATED 52 YEARS AND STILL GIVING IN 2021. STILL FACING CHALLENGES WITH COVID-19 THE TOURNAMENT FOLLOWED TEE TIMES AND ADOPTED AN OUTDOOR HAPPY HOUR FOR GUESTS TO SAFELY GATHER FOLLOWING THEIR ROUND OF GOLF. THIS YEAR'S EVENT NETTED OVER $85,000. THE SPORTS COMMITTEE'S TENNIS BENEFIT WELCOMED 28 DOUBLES TEAMS TO ENJOY A DAY OF GREAT MATCHES AND CAMARADERIE. FINE TASTINGS CONTINUED IN A HYBRID FORMAT THIS YEAR SHARING A WINE PAIRING EXPERIENCE WITH OUR FRIENDS IN PERSON AND AT HOME. THESE EVENTS RAISED $20,000 AND $38,000 RESPECTIVELY THIS YEAR. THE FOUNDATION THROUGH THE SPORTS COMMITTEE WAS PROUD TO DISTRIBUTE A TOTAL OF $80,000 IN UNRESTRICTED FUNDS AGAIN THIS YEAR ALLOWING ORGANIZATIONS TO DETERMINE WHERE THE GRANTS WOULD BE BEST SPENT GIVEN THE CHALLENGES THEY CONTINUE TO FACE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY EVENT TOOK PLACE VIRTUALLY WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM ALL SEVEN AL SIGL MEMBER AGENCIES JOINING SPORTS COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO SHARE PERSONAL STORIES AND INFORMATION ON THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT WILL BE SUPPORTED THROUGH THIS YEAR'S DISTRIBUTION.
THE AL SIGL FOUNDATION IS CHARGED WITH RAISING FUNDS TO ADVANCE THE MISSION AND OBJECTIVES OF AL SIGL COMMUNITY OF AGENCIES AND ITS COLLABORATIVE MEMBER AGENCIES. THIS SUPPORT HELPS PEOPLE OF ALL ABILITIES BECOME MORE INDEPENDENT, ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND BE MORE FULLY INCLUDED IN COMMUNITY LIFE.
