Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY IS A THRIFT STORE PROVIDING LOW-COST CLOTHING AND SMALLL HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO ANY AREA RESIDENT. WE RECEIVE DONATIONS OF CLOTHING AND SMALL HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND SELL THEM AT LOW COST. CLOTHING THAT CANNOT BE SOLD DUE TO ITS CONDITION IS RECYCLED WHEN POSSIBLE. THE PROCEEDS OF SALES FROM THE THRIFT STORE IN 2019 WERE USED TO PAY TWO PART-TIME EMPLOYEES, OCCUPANCY EXPENSES, INSURANCE, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS, AND STORE SUPPLIES. MUCH OF THE WORK AT THE STORE (SORTING AND HANGING UP CLOTHING, ETC.) WAS DONE BY A GROUP OF 15 VOLUNTEERS WHO CONTRIBUTED 227 HOURS IN 2019. WE ALSO PROVIDE FREE CLOTHING TO NEEDY INDIVIDUALS THROUGH VOUCHERS SENT BY LOCAL AGENCIES SUCH AS RED CROSS, CLERGY, HOSPITAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND REHAB PROGRAMS, COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, SCHOOL NURSES AND TEACHERS, LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS, AND OTHER LOCAL NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. THIS YEAR THE VOUCHER PROGRAM PROVIDED CLOTHING WORTH $617 AT THRIFT PRICING TO 60 INDIVIDUALS. OUR MAIN EXPENSES ARE PAYROLL AND RELATED EXPENSES. WE OWN THE BUILDING HOUSING THE THRIFT STORE AND IT IS AGING AND NEEDING CONSTANT UPKEEP.
