COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND ADVOCACY -NY4P'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH SEEKS TO BUILD AND STRENGTHEN A GRASSROOTS NETWORK THAT CAN WORK ON ITS OWN AND WITH NY4P TO ADVOCATE ON PARKS BUDGETING AND OTHER PARK AND OPEN SPACE POLICY ISSUES. NY4P LED AND CONTINUED TO BUILD A CITY-WIDE COALITION OF PARK STAKEHOLDERS THAT ADVOCATED FOR STRATEGIC INCREASES AND MAINTENANCE OF PRIOR BUDGET GAINS IN THE NEW YORK CITY PARK AGENCY BUDGET FOR THE FOLLOWING FISCAL YEAR. NY4P ALSO PROVIDES A VARIETY OF RESOURCES TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER LOCAL ADVOCATES. NY4P USES ITS RESEARCH FINDINGS AS A FOUNDATION FOR ADVOCACY TO PROMOTE ADEQUATE AND EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF RESOURCES THROUGHOUT THE CITY'S PARK SYSTEM, AND TRANSPARENCY AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN POLICY AND BUDGET DECISIONS AROUND PARKS AND OPEN SPACE ISSUES.

DAFFODIL PROJECT - THE DAFFODIL PROJECT IS THE LARGEST VOLUNTEER PLANTING INITIATIVE IN THE CITY'S HISTORY. SOME EIGHT MILLION FREE DAFFODIL BULBS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED BY NY4P SINCE 2001 AND PLANTED IN PUBLIC PARKS AND OPEN SPACES CITYWIDE.
PUBLIC INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION - NY4P WORKS TO INFORM AND ENGAGE NEW YORKERS AND KEY STAKEHOLDERS ABOUT OUR RESEARCH FINDINGS AND ADVOCACY POSITIONS. AS PART OF ITS PUBLIC INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS EFFORT, NY4P UTILIZES ITS WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA, PERIODIC E-NEWSLETTER AND TARGETED MEDIA OUTREACH. THE DAFFODIL PROJECT AND OUR COMMUNITY OUTREACH WORK COMPLEMENT AND EXTEND NY4P'S OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT WITH NEW YORKERS CITYWIDE.CONVENING - NY4P CARRIES OUT A VARIETY OF CONVENING ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT OF ITS MISSION.
