THE SOCIETY'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE FRIENDSHIP, CHARITY AND MUTUAL ASSISTANT AMONG AND ON BEHALF OF NEW ENGLANDERS LIVING IN NEW YORK. THE SOCIETY IS ONE OF THE OLDEST CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION'S IN THE UNITED STATES AND WAS FOUNDED IN 1805. TODAY, THE SOCIETY CELEBRATES THE NEW ENGLAND SPIRIT AND HERITAGE THROUGH ITS CHARITABLE WORKS, SOCIAL ACTIVITIES FOR MEMBERS AND GUESTS. ITS PHILANTHROPIC FOCUS IS A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR NEW YORK CITY STUDENTS ATTENDING NEW ENGLAND COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.

TO PROMOTE ITS PURPOSE, THE SOCIETY HOLDS VARIOUS EVENTS AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES FOR MEMBERS AND GUESTS. THESE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS AND DINNERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ADD TO THE FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.
