THE ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGY CLUB (APC) PRESENTS LECTURES, WORKSHOPS AND DISCUSSIONS TO COVER A WIDE RANGE OF SUBJECTS STUDIED BY CARL JUNG (THE FIRST PSYCHOANALYST WHO, IN CONTRAST TO FREUD, DEALT WITH HIS PATIENTS' PSYCHES TO HELP THEM BECOME THEIR BEST SELVES) AND HIS FOLLOWERS. PARTICIPANTS SEEK THEIR INDIVIDUAL PATHS TO DISCOVER THEIR TRUE SELVES GUIDED BY THE THEORIES OF JUNG. WE PROVIDE A FRIENDLY, SAFE ENVIRONMENT TO EXPLORE THIS PROCESS JUNG CALLED INDIVIDUATION WITH PEOPLE WHO SHARE THESE SAME GOALS.THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE:. TWO SERIES OF PROGRAMS IN THE MONTHS FROM OCTOBER TO MAY, OCCASIONALLY ADDING EARLIER OR (LESS FREQUENTLY) LATER DATES. BOTH ARE SPONSORED BY THE APC BUT PRESENT DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROGRAMS.. A TUESDAY EVENING DISCUSSION GROUP ON THE THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH.. NEW DIRECTIONS SATURDAY WORKSHOPS.. BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP MEETINGS ON THE 4TH WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH.


THE APC MAINTAINS THE KRISTINE MANN LIBRARY (KML), NAMED FOR DR. KRISTINE MANN, AN EARLY PRACTITIONER OF ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGY IN THE UNITED STATES. DR. MANN'S BEQUEST IN 1945 OF 400 BOOKS TO THE CLUB FORMED THE NUCLEUS OF THE LIBRARY'S COLLECTION, NOW GROWN TO ABOUT 20,000 TITLES INCLUDING BOOKS, ARTICLES, FILES & AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIALS. THE MAJORITY OF THE COLLECTION IS NOW ON A SEARCHABLE COMPUTER CATALOG; THE REST OF THE ITEMS ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING ADDED. THE APC OWNS THE CONTENTS OF THE KML AND CO-MANAGES IT WITH THE CG JUNG INSTITUTE OF NEW YORK. MEMBERS OF BOTH ORGANIZATIONS SERVE ON A BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THAT PURPOSE.THE LIBRARY IS A MAJOR REPOSITORY OF MATERIALS RELATED TO ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGY, INCLUDING MANY RARE ITEMS. THE COLLECTION INCLUDES ALL OF C.G. JUNG'S WORKS IN ENGLISH AND GERMAN AND IN MANY OTHER LANGUAGES. THERE ARE ALSO WORKS BY MANY OTHER AUTHORS IN THE AREAS OF RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY, ART, ANTHROPOLOGY, ALCHEMY, SYMBOLISM, MYTHOLOGY, AND FAIRY TALES.
