BOYS & GIRLS REPUBLIC (BGR) OFFERED A RANGE OF OUT-OF-SCHOOL SERVICES THAT HELP YOUNG PEOPLE BUILD AN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION, DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE, AND BECOME EMPOWERED TO MAKE POSITIVE CHOICES. BGR'S AFTERSCHOOL AND CAMP PROGRAMS OFFERED POSITIVE ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH, INCLUDING PROJECT-BASED ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT, DAILY PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, AND ARTS. EVENING/WEEKEND PROGRAMMING PROVIDED LOCAL ADOLESCENTS WITH STRUCTURED SPORTS AND RECREATION PROGRAMMING ALONG WITH ROBUST SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS THAT REMOVE BARRIERS TO SUCCESS AND PROMOTE HEALTHY, POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEERS AND MENTORS.THE ORGANIZATION TRANSFERRED ITS PROGRAMS TO ITS PARENT ORGANIZATION, HENRY STREET SETTLEMENT, AS OF THE FIRST DAY OF THE FISCAL YEAR, AND IS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF DISSOLVING.
