SALMAGUNDI OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES AND PROGRAMS SUCH AS LECTURES, CONCERTS, DEMONSTRATIONS, TANGO DANCING LESSONS, PANEL DISCUSSIONS THAT ALLOW FOR THE PUBLIC AS WELL AS FOR OUR MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND ART CRITICISM. AFTER MARCH OF 2020, THESE PRESENTATIONS MOVED ONLINE ONLY DUE TO COVID. THERE IS A FULL SERVICE DINING ROOM AND BAR WHICH WAS OPEN TO PARTICIPATING INDIVIDUALS UNTIL MARCH OF 2020 WHEN IT WAS CLOSED FOR SAFETY REASONS.
EXHIBITIONS, 15 TOTAL DURING THE COVID PERIOD HELD ONLINE AND IN THE CLUB'S GALLERIES, INVOLVE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH KEEPING THE GALLERIES OPEN MON-FRI, 1-6PM, SAT & SUN, 1-5PM. THIS INCLUDES PERSONNEL COSTS FOR RECEPTIONISTS, MAINTAINER, BOOKEEPER, HOUSEKEEPER,SECRETARY;AND NON-PERSONNEL COSTS FOR THE SECURITY SYSTEM, INSURANCE, HVAC, ADVERTISING, PRINTING, INCLUDING EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. EXHIBITIONS WERE HELD IN THE MAIN GALLERY JANUARY THROUGH MARCH UNTIL INTERRUPTED BY COVID AND THEN RE-OPENED, SOCIALLY DISTANCED, IN JULY WITH THE COAST GUARD ART PROGRAM FOLLOWED BY OUR NON-MEMBERS EXHIBITIONS. EXHIBITIONS WERE HELD ONLINE DURING THE MARCH THROUGH JUNE PERIOD AND AFTER RE-OPENINGM HEKD CONCURENTLY WITH EXHIBITIONS HELD AT THE CLUB.
SALMAGUNDI OFFERS QUALITY ART EDUCATION TO STUDENTS OF ALL AGES IN A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT THE PRESSURES OF ACADEMIA, ALLOWING EXPERIENCED ARTIST TEACHERS TO WORK WITH STUDENTS OF ALL AGES IN A ONE-ON-ONE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN DIFFERENT MEDIA AND AT THEIR OWN PACE. THERE WERE FIVE WEEKLY CLASSES HELD AT SALMAGUNDI UNTIL MARCH (COVID) AT WHICH TIME, TWO OF THE CLASSES CONTINUED ONLINE.
