SCIENCE FRIDAY WEEKLY RADIO BROADCASTFOR OVER 30 YEARS, AND HOSTED BY AWARD-WINNING PRODUCER IRA FLATOW, THE RADIO PROGRAM IS AT THE CORE OF SCIENCE FRIDAY AND INCLUDES 52 TWO-HOUR BROADCASTS (VERSIONED TO GENERATE 104+ PODCAST EPISODES) ANNUALLY. THE RADIO SHOW HAS PROVIDED OUR LISTENERS WITH WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN ENLIGHTENED DISCUSSIONS OF CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH, POLICY, AND NEWS. THE PROGRAM'S UNIQUE FORMAT AND AUDIENCE OUTREACH HAS PROVEN POPULAR FOR FIRST-HAND INTERACTION BETWEEN LISTENERS AND SCIENTISTS.
SCIENCE FRIDAY DIGITAL VIDEOS AND WEBSITE SCIENCE FRIDAY'S DIGITAL DEPARTMENT PUBLISHES ORIGINAL REPORTING AND VISUAL ADDITIONS TO RADIO SEGMENTS. OUR WEBSITE, SCIENCEFRIDAY.COM, IS THE PUBLIC'S ONE STOP-SHOP FOR EVERYTHING THAT SCIENCE FRIDAY CREATES, INCLUDING ORIGINAL LONGFORM REPORTING THAT GIVES READERS A FLAVOR OF THE CHALLENGES FACED BY SCIENTISTS WORKING TO SOLVE BIG PROBLEMS. SCIENCE FRIDAY EDUCATION INITIATIVEOUR EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CREATES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, CONTENT, AND COMMUNITIES TO EMPOWER PARENTS, EDUCATORS, AND EVERYDAY PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, AND MATH BY DOING. OUR ORIGINAL LESSON PLANS AND ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN DOZENS OF NATIONAL CURRICULUM AND OUT OF SCHOOL TIME ACTIVITY REPOSITORIES SERVING TENS OF MILLIONS OF EDUCATORS, INCLUDING SHARE MY LESSON, PBS LEARNING MEDIA, AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF CHEMISTRY TEACHERS, NEWSELA, AND CODE.ORG.
