THE PTA OF MS54 INC. IS A PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION FOR BOOKER T. WASHINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL 54 LOCATED AT 103 WEST 107TH STREET IN NEW YORK CITY. THE SCHOOL HAS AN ENROLLMENT OF 875 STUDENTS. THE PTA CONSISTS OF PARENT VOLUNTEERS THAT OFFER A MYRIAD OF SERVICES AND RESOURCES THAT THE SCHOOL WOULD OTHERWISE NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE TO ITS STUDENTS. THIS SUPPORT INCLUDES SUPPLEMENTING THE OVERALL SCHOOL BUDGET TO ALLOW FOR THE HIRING OF ADDITIONAL TEACHERS, GUIDANCE COUNSELORS AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL. IN ADDITION, THE PTA FUNDS ART AND SCIENCE SUPPLIES, BOOKS FOR THE LIBRARY, PLANNERS AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR ALL STUDENTS, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR OUR COMPUTER AND SCIENCE LABS.
