THE FRIENDS MISSION IS TO FOSTER THE APPRECIATION AND CONSERVATION OF THE DECORATIVE ARTS. IN CARRYING OUT ITS MISSION, THE FRIENDS SUPPORTS THE PRESERVATION, RESTORATION AND EXHIBITION OF, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS REGARDING IMPORTANT EXAMPLES OF INTERIOR DESIGN, FURNITURE, TEXTILES, FASHION, GRAPHIC ARTS, DECORATIVE PAINTING, ART GLASS, JEWELRY, PORCELAIN AND OTHER DECORATIVE AND USEFUL OBJECTS, INCLUDING BY SUPPORTING THE ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS OF LES ARTS DECORATIFS.

GRANTS PROVIDED DURING THE YEAR TO THE MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIFS (PARIS, FRANCE) IN ORDER TO FUND THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS:1. $275,000 TO SUPPORT THE INSTALLATION AND SCENOGRAPHY OF AN EXHIBITION "AN ENCOUNTER WITH LEPETIT PRINCE", INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION OF CLIMATE CONTROLLED CASES FOR THE DISPLAYOF ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS, DRAWINGS AND WATER COLORS, AS WELL AS SUPPORT FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE ARTWORKS PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION (PACKAGING FOR TRANSPORT, FRAMING, AIR FREIGHT, UNPACKING AND STORAGE OF CRATES). 2. $200,000 TO SUPPORT VARIOUS RESTORATION EXPENSES OF THE FASHION AND TEXTILE DEPARTMENTS.3. $56,529 TO SUPPORT THE PROGRAM OF FREE ACCESS FOR ALL VISITORS BETWEEN 18 AND 25 YEARS OF AGE TO TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS AS WELL AS THE PERMANENT COLLECTIONS.4. $93,534 CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS OF THE GRAPHIC ARTS DEPARTMENT.
