WEDC PROVIDES TRAINING, ADVISORY SERVICES, AND ACCESS TO CAPITAL FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS THROUGHOUT WESTCHESTER COUNTY AND THE LOWER AND MID-HUDSON VALLEY. THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC, WEDC HAS RESPONDED QUICKLY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS BY CONDUCTING TRAINING PROGRAMS AND COUNSELING SESSIONS VIRTUALLY. THESE SERVICES INCLUDED A FOCUS ON HELPING CLIENTS ACCESS FUNDING FROM THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PAYCHECK PROTECTION AND ECONOMIC INDUSTRY DISASTER LOAN PROGRAMS. WEDC HAS ALSO ASSISTED CLIENTS IN NEED OF RETHINKING THEIR BUSINESS MODELS. DURING 2021, OVER 1,000 CLIENTS WERE SERVED AND 110 JOBS WERE CREATED IN RESPONSE TO COVID. WEDC SERVES BOTH WOMEN AND MEN, AND ITS SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL POPULATION GROUPS, WITH THOSE SERVED BEING MAINLY CAUCASIAN, LATINO/HISPANIC, AND AFRICAN AMERICAN.
