GO CONGRESS TOURNAMENTS: THE AGA PROVIDES MONETARY SUPPORT FOR MAJOR TOURNAMENTS THAT BRING TOGETHER SOME OF THE STRONGEST PLAYERS IN NORTH AMERICA TO COMPETE FOR NATIONAL TITLES. THESE TOURNAMENTS ARE ALSO OPEN TO THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP AND ATTRACT A LARGE NUMBER OF PLAYERS AT ALL LEVELS FROM BEGINNER TO PROFESSIONAL. TOURNAMENTS NOT ONLY BRING ENJOYMENT AND EDIFICATION TO MEMBERS BUT ALSO ATTRACT NEW MEMBERS WHO MIGHT OTHERWISE HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION. AN OFFICIAL RATING EARNED THROUGH TOURNAMENT PLAY IS ONE OF THE MAJOR BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP. THE AGA ALSO SUPPORTS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION WITH GRANTS FOR TRAVEL TO REPRESENT THE USA OR NORTH AMERICA, AND DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES TO AGA COMPETITORS.
