THROUGH CREATIVE EXPRESSION PERFORMANCES, CORRESPONDING WORKSHOPS AND INTERACTIVE VIDEOS, BOOKS AND OTHER MEDIA, REPERTORY COMPANY, CHALLENGES COMMUNITIES TO DEVELOP A RESPONSE TO RELEVANT SOCIAL ISSUES. QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS PROVIDE TRAINING IN DANCE, VOCAL TECHNIQUES, NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION, ACTING, WRITING, AND OTHER ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THROUGH THESE LESSONS, PARTICIPANTS LEARN TO BE A PART OF A GROUP, TO TAKE A PROJECT TO CONCLUSION, AND TO DEAL WITH THE INTERPLAY AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT IDEAS AND TALENTS. RHYME & REASON, NEW WORKS LAB AND CUBENOMIX OFFER YOUTH A SAFE SPACE TO CREATE AND EXPRESS THEIR OWN CREATIVITY, WHILE HONING ARTISTIC, PRODUCTION AND PERFORMANCE SKILLS. COALITION IS AN OPEN AND INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP WHERE YOUNG PEOPLE EVERY WEEK LEARN INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COMMUNICATION SKILLS THROUGH YOUTH-DIRECTED AND YOUTH-FACILITATED DIALOGUE. CITYKIDS IN ACTION (CKIA) IS THE ADVANCED YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES INTENSIVE LEADERSHIP TRAINING WHILE CHALLENGING AND SUPPORTING NEW LEADERS TO APPLY THESE SKILLS TO CITYKIDS ACTIVITIES. SPECIAL PROJECTS INCLUDE WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT GROUP, MALE AWARENESS NOW, AND ALUMNI PARTNERSHIPS WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO ENSURE THAT YOUTH ARE ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN THEIR OWN DEVELOPMENT IN AREAS THAT ARE MOST RELEVANT TO THEM.
