OUR HELPLINE SUPPORTS INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY EATING DISORDERS AND THEIR LOVED ONES FIND THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO GET HELP. IN 2021 OUR HELPLINE FIELDED OVER 60,000 REQUESTS.
DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT: OUR WEBSITE IS ONE OF THE TOP RESOURCES FOR EATING DISORDERS INFORMATION, WITH OVER 5.5 MILLION UNIQUE VISITORS ANNUALLY. OUR SCREENING TOOL, DEVELOPED BY TOP EATING DISORDER RESEARCHERS, HAD OVER 178,000 SUBMISSIONS IN 2021. IT'S A POWERFUL FIRST STEP TOWARDS IDENTIFICATION FOR MANY. OUR NATIONAL EATING DISORDERS AWARENESS WEEK IS AN IMPORTANT PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN ABOUT EATING DISORDERS. IN 2021, THE WEEK DREW 83.3 MILLION IMPRESSIONS.
OUR NEDA WALKS PROGRAM TAKES PLACE IN MORE THAN 49 CITIES NATIONWIDE. THESE COMMUNITY-BUILDING EVENTS PROVIDE SUPPORT TO ALL THOSE AFFECTED BY EATING DISORDERS. IN 2021, WALKS WERE CONVERTED TO ONLINE EVENTS DUE TO GATHERING RESTRICTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS SURROUNDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. OVER 5,000 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN THE 2021 WALKS PROGRAM.
OTHER PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE OUR RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM, CONFERENCE PROGRAMS, PUBLIC POLICY AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES, EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS, AND AD HOC ENGAGEMENTS THAT SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY EATING DISORDERS AND TO SERVE AS A CATALYST FOR PREVENTION, CURES AND ACCESS TO QUALITY CARE.
