PUBLIC POLICY AND EDUCATION FUND OF NEW YORK ADDRESSES CRITICAL SOCIAL, RACIAL, ECONOMIC, AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES FACING LOW AND MODERATE INCOME NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS. PPEF SERVES DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION, COMMUNITY ORGANIZING, COALITION BUILDING, AND PROVIDING INFORMATION ABOUT AVAILABLE SERVICES. OUR AREAS OF WORK HAVE INCLUDED HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION, JOBS AND WAGES, AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS, VOTER PARTICIPATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, CIVIL RIGHTS AND CONSUMER ISSUES.

PUBLIC POLICY AND EDUCATION FUND OF NEW YORK EDUCATED THE PUBLIC ON KEY ISSUES FACING LOW AND MODERATE INCOME COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES. PPEF ENGAGED IN RESEARCH ON PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES INCLUDING HEALTH CARE, CAMPAIGN FINANCE, VOTING RIGHTS, PUBLIC EDUCATION, THE ENVIRONMENT, AND CIVIL RIGHTS. PPEF DEVELOPED AND HOSTED POPULAR EDUCATION WORKSHOPS FOR THE PUBLIC AND FOR A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS ON THE TOPIC OF WEALTH AND RACE INEQUALITY. PPEF ENROLLED CONSUMERS IN HEALTH INSURANCE. PPEF CONVENED AND HOSTED THE NEW YORK STATE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT TABLE TO INCREASE VOTER PARTICIPATION. PPEF ENGAGED IN COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AND DEVELOPING CIVIC LEADERSHIP.
