THE OFFICE IN THE U.S. SERVES TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE JEWISH INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND IN JERUSALEM (BEIT CHINUCH IVRIM). THE INSTITUTE HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCEFOR OVER 120 YEARS AND SERVES HUNDREDS OF VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN, YOUNG ADULTS AND ADULTS ACROSS ISRAEL. THE VISION IS TO (A)REDEFINE BLINDNESS AS A CHALLENGE THAT CAN BE OVERCOME, AND (B) CULTIVATE A WORLD OF EQUALITY, NOT JUST TOLERANCE OR INCLUSIVITY, IN WHICH ALL BLIND PEOPLE CAN BE EQUAL, ACTIVE MEMBERS AND PARTICIPANTS OF SOCIETY.PROGRAMS INCLUDE A BROAD ARRAY OF ENRICHING ACTIVITIES, SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AS WELL AS VOCATIONAL TRAINING.
