THE ASSOCIATION ALSO COLLECTS AND DISSEMINATES INFORMATION AND DATA OF VALUE TO THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY AND EDUCATES THE PUBLIC AND END USER ABOUT THE MERITS OF ELECTRICAL ACCEPTANCE AND MAINTENANCE TESTING.

MEMBERSHIP, WHICH PROVIDES MEMBERS ACCESS TO NETA, WAS CREATED TO FILL A NECESSARY REQUIREMENT IN THE APPLICATION AND USE OF ELECTRICAL POWER. TO THIS END, NETA HAS DEVELOPED AND PROMULGATED STANDARDS FOR TESTING NEWLY INSTALLED POWER SYSTEMS PRIOR TO ENERGIZATION AS WELL AS EXISTING IN-SERVICE POWER SYSTEMS. TO AID IN THE ASSESSMENT OF THESE SYSTEMS, NETA HAS DEVELOPED PROTOCOLS TO TRAIN AND CERTIFY TECHNICIANS IN THE TESTING METHODOLOGY NECESSARY TO CORRECTLY EVALUATE THE EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS.
NETA HOSTS THE ANNUAL POWERTEST ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE CONFERENCE. POWERTEST INCLUDES PAPER PRESENTATIONS ON SAFETY, RELIABILITY, AND EQUIPMENT; A NEW PRODUCT FORUM; A TRADE SHOW; INTERACTIVE PANEL SESSIONS AND SYMPOSIUMS, POST-CONFERENCE SEMINARS AND VARIOUS NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. THE CONFERENCE IS HELD OVER A PERIOD OF FOUR DAYS DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.
