PRINTED MATTER IS THE WORLD'S LARGEST NON-PROFIT DISTRIBUTOR OF ARTISTS' BOOKS, DEDICATED TO DISSEMINATING, UNDERSTANDING, AND APPRECIATING PUBLICATIONS MADE BY ARTISTS. THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION'S TWO NON-PROFIT BOOKSTORES AND WEBSITE, PRINTED MATTER CIRCULATED TENS OF THOUSANDS OF BOOKS AND RELATED WORKS IN FY21. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED VITAL SERVICES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO ARTISTS AND PUBLISHERS AND FREE PUBLIC PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGED EXPLORATION IN THE FIELD, INCLUDING DYNAMIC VIRTUAL EVENTS, SUCH AS ARTISTS' TALKS, PANEL DISCUSSIONS, AND BOOK LAUNCHES. PRINTED MATTER ALSO PRESENTED ITS FIRST-EVER VIRTUAL ART BOOK FAIR, SHOWCASING MORE THAN 400 GLOBAL ARTISTS AND PUBLISHERS AND WELCOMING APPROXIMATELY 40,000 VISITORS FROM AROUND THE WORLD, AND CO-PRESENTED AN OUTDOOR, COMMUNITY-CENTRIC SPRING ZINE FAIR THAT FEATURED MORE THAN 40 EXHIBITORS AND CELEBRATED THE EAST VILLAGE'S ARTISTIC PAST AND PRESENT.
