THE WESTCHESTER JEWISH COUNCIL, INC. IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMMUNITY RELATIONS ORGANIZATION THAT VOICES THE UNITED CONCERNS OF THE WESTCHESTER JEWISH COMMUNITY. THE COUNCIL MAINTAINS RELATIONS WITH OTHER ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS GROUPS IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY AND WORKS WITH THEM ON COMMUNAL ISSUES. THE COUNCIL IS ALSO COMMITTED TO CREATING STRONGER TIES AMONG ITS MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS AND ALL JEWISH RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY.

THE WESTCHESTER JEWISH COUNCIL HELD ITS BI-ANNUAL NIGHT OF LEARNING AND CELEBRATION ON NOVEMBER 20, 2021. THIS WAS A VIRTUAL EVENT. TWENTY RABBIS FROM DIFFERENT SYNAGOGUE/MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS HELD INSTRUCTIONAL SESSIONS-ONE STARTING AT 7:30 P.M. AND THE OTHER 8:30 P.M. PARTICIPANTS HAD A CHOICE OF WHICH SESSION TO ATTEND. TEN RABBIS LEAD SESSION 1 AND ANOTHER 10 LEAD SESSION 2. THERE WAS NO CHARGE TO PARTICIPATE, ALTHOUGH SOME PARTICIPANTS MADE DONATIONS TO THE COUNCIL.THE WESTCHESTER JEWISH COUNCIL HELD ITS 46TH ANNUAL ANNIVERSARY GALA ON FEBRUARY 5, 2022. PARTICIPANTS HAD A CHOICE OF ATTENDING IN PERSON OR WATCHING VIRTUALLY. MARC KLEE AND JENNIFER SOKOL WERE OUR HONOREES. OUR CORPORATE HONOREES WERE ROBERT P. WEISZ, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE RPW GROUP AND ANDREW WEISZ, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE RPW GROUP. SIX 13, AN A CAPPELLA, GROUP PERFORMED. APPROXIMATELY, 135 PEOPLE ATTENDED AND 178 ATTENDED VIRTUALLY.THE WESTCHESTER JEWISH COUNCIL'S JULIAN Y. BERNSTEIN DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD CEREMONY WAS HELD ON MAY 10, 2022. MR. BERNSTEIN (OF BLESSED MEMORY) WAS A WESTCHESTER JEWISH COUNCIL BOARD MEMBER, WHO BELIEVED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE AND APPRECIATED VOLUNTEERS. EIGHTEEN VOLUNTEERS FROM SYNAGOGUES/MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS WERE HONORED. A PROGRAM WAS PUBLISHED WITH JOURNAL ADS HONORING THE VOLUNTEERS. THOSE SUPPORTING THE VOLUNEERS HAD A CHOICE OF COMING IN PERSON OR ATTENDING VIRTUALLY.
