ARTIST MANAGEMENT SERVICES:YOUNG CONCERT ARTISTS PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL CAREER MANAGEMENT FOR YCA ARTISTS AND COMPOSERS. WINNERS OF THE YOUNG CONCERT ARTISTS INTERNATIONAL AUDITIONS, HELD ANNUALLY, RECEIVE A MANAGEMENT CONTRACT WITH YCA. YOUNG CONCERT ARTISTS PROVIDES PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS, BOOKS SEVERAL HUNDRED CONCERT ENGAGEMENTS AND EDUCATIONAL RESIDENCIES EACH YEAR THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND ABROAD, AND ARRANGES THE TRAVEL, PUBLICITY AND PROGRAMS FOR EACH CONCERT. YCA'S ARTIST MANAGERS COUNSEL THE ARTISTS ON THEIR CAREER DEVELOPMENT, AND HELP THE ARTISTS SECURE COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT REPRESENTATION WHEN THE ARTISTS ARE READY TO LEAVE YCA.
YOUNG CONCERT ARTISTS SERIES IN NEW YORK:2020-2021 MARKED THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE YOUNG CONCERT ARTISTS SERIES IN NEW YORK. BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC, YCA ALTERED MANY REGULAR ACTIVITIES AS VIRTUAL EVENTS. THE 2020 YCA SUSAN WADSWORTH INTERNATIONAL AUDITIONS TOOK PLACE IN PERSON BUT WITHOUT AN AUDIENCE. THE ANNUAL WINNERS CONCERT ALONG WITH FOUR ARTIST DEBUTS AND FOUR MORGAN LIBRARY CONCERTS WERE PRESENTED VIRTUALLY WITHOUT AN AUDIENCE. A VIRTUAL 60TH ANNIVERSARY GALA TOOK PLACE IN MAY OF 2021. IN APRIL AND MAY OF 2021 YCA WAS ABLE TO INVITE SMALL AUDIENCES BACK TO CONCERTS. THESE WERE NON-TICKETED EVENTS OFFERED TO YCA BOARD MEMBERS AND KEY DONORS.YOUNG CONCERT ARTISTS SERIES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.:THE YOUNG CONCERT ARTIST SERIES IN WASHINGTON D.C. SUSPENDED MOST ACTIVITIES DURING THE 2020-2021 SEASON DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. ALL VIRTUAL CONCERTS STREAMED AS PART OF THE NY SERIES WERE SHARED WITH THE WASHINGTON AUDIENCE. ONE CONCERT TOOK PLACE IN MAY 2021 IN-PERSON WITH A SELECT GUEST LIST OF 50 BOARD MEMBERS AND KEY PATRONS.
KEEP OUR ARTISTS WORKING / COVID RELIEF FUND:THE PANDEMIC BROUGHT ON MUCH HARDSHIP FOR THE YOUNG ARTISTS OF YCA. MOST LIVE PERFORMANCES WERE CANCELLED, AND INCOME WAS LOST. YCA RAISED FUNDS TO HELP THE ARTISTS MAINTAIN THEIR CAREERS AS MUSICIANS THROUGH VIRTUAL PERFORMANCES, VIDEOS AND OTHER WORKS THAT WERE POSSIBLE DURING THIS TIME. THE KEEP OUR ARTISTS WORKING FUND SUPPORTED THE ARTISTS NEEDS FOR THESE PROJECTS AND PROVIDED COVID RELIEF GRANTS TO THE ARTISTS WHO QUALIFIED, TO COVER LIVING EXPENSES WHILE THEIR PERFORMANCE INCOME WAS AT A HALT.
