THE ORGANIZATION IS A BUSINESS LEAGUE OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING AND LAND SURVEYING FIRMS WHOSE PRINCIPALS ARE LICENSED BY THE STATE OF NEW YORK AND ENGAGED IN PRIVATE PRACTICE. THE ORGANIZATION IS AFFILIATED WITH THE AMERICAN COUNCIL OF ENGINEERING COMPANIES. THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO ASSIST ITS MEMBERS IN MAINTAINING PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS IN ORDER FOR THEM TO PROVIDE QUALITY ENGINEERING AND LAND SURVEYING SERVICES TO THEIR CLIENTS.

THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS VARIOUS MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS VARIOUS CONTINUING EDUCATION SEMINARS IN ORDER FOR MEMBERS TO MAINTAIN THEIR LICENSING REQUIREMENTS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO DISEMINATES IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO ITS MEMBERS ON CURRENT AFFAIRS AND LEGISLATION THAT MAY AFFECT ITS MEMBERS.THE ORGANIZATION'S HALLMARK IS THE ANNUAL ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AWARDS (EEA) PROGRAM. EEA RECOGNIZES ENGINNERING ACHIEVEMENTS THAT DEMOSTRATES THE HIGHEST DEGREE OF SKILL AND INGENUITY AMONG ITS MEMBERS.
