Part 3
PROTECT OUR CONSTITUTION PROVIDES INVALUABLE MONITORING AND ADVOCACY PROGRAMMING AIMED AT PROTECTING FLORIDA'S CONSTITUTION FROM OUT OF STATE AND SPECIAL INTERESTS. FLORIDA'S CONSTITUTION WAS UPDATED IN 1968 TO ALLOW FOR FIVE IMPORTANT PATHWAYS FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO MAKE THEIR WAY TO FLORIDA'S BALLOT. ONE OF THOSE PATHWAYS CALLED THE "CITIZENS' INITIATIVE AND IT WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR REGISTERED VOTERS IN FLORIDA TO GAIN ENOUGH SIGNATURES VIA HOME-GROWN, GRASSROOTS EFFORTS TO PLACE THEIR IDEA ON THE BALLOT. PROTECT OUR CONSTITUTION IS THE LEADING ORGANIZATION IN FLORIDA THAT DAILY MONITORS ALL POLITICAL AND POLICY ACTIVITY SURROUNDING PROPOSED INITIATIVES. FLORIDA'S CONSTITUTION REMAINS ONE OF THE EASIEST IN THE NATION TO AMEND AND PROTECT OUR CONSTITUTION FOCUSES ITS EFFORTS ON MONITORING AMENDMENT ACTIVITY, INFORMING FLORIDIANS OF ACTIONS THAT IMPACT THE STATE CONSTITUTION AND IN RAISING AWARENESS WHCIH HELPS PROTECT FLORIDA'S CONSTITUTION WHILE RETURNING IT TO THE PEOPLE OF FLORIDA. PROTECT OUR CONSTITUTION WILL CONTINUE TO BE FLORIDA'S TOP DEFENDER OF OUR STATE CONSTITUTION.
