NEW HORIZONS OF SWFL EMPOWERS AT-RISK CHILDREN AND TEENS WHO ARE GROWING UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF POVERTY, ACADEMIC FAILURE, AND HOPELESSNESS. FROM ITS HUMBLE BEGINNINGS WITH 20 CHILDREN IN 2002, NEW HORIZONS CURRENTLY REACHES 600 CHILDREN.

NEW HORIZONS OF SW FLORIDA'S ENABLES UNDER-RESOURCED STUDENTS TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL BY OFFERING THEM AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS. NEW HORIZONS HAS GROWN TO OFFER SEVEN PROGRAMS, FREE OF CHARGE, TO OVER 600 STUDENTS K-12 AT 10 LOCATIONS IN SW FLORIDA. IN 2021-2022 DESPITE THE PANDEMIC SETBACKS, OVER 70% OF OUR K-5TH GRADE STUDENTS WERE ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR LANGUAGE ARTS GRADES TO A "C- OR BETTER. EIGHTY-EIGHT PERCENT OF THE TEENS GAINED IN THEIR GRADES WITH A 2.0 OR GREATER GPA (OVER 60% WITH A 3.0 OR GREATER GPA). OVER 90% OF THE STUDENTS BELIEVE THAT THEIR FAITH HAS GROWN. ALMOST 100% OF THE PARENTS POLLED SAY THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THEIR CHILDREN GROW IN CHARACTER AND RESPONSIBILITY SINCE THEIR CHILD HAS BEEN ENROLLED WITH NEW HORIZONS OF SW FLORIDA.
