THE MILL NECK FOUNDATION WAS FORMED TO GATHER RESOURCES TO SUPPORT A VARIETY OF MINISTRIES IN THE U.S. AND WORLDWIDE, WHICH SERVE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING PEOPLE, INCLUDING MILL NECK MANOR SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF, MILL NECK SERVICES INC., AND LUTHERAN FRIENDS OF THE DEAF.

GRANTS AWARDED - SINCE 1978 THE MILL NECK FOUNDATION HAS GRANTED APPROXIMATELY $8,500,000 TO ORGANIZATIONS WORLDWIDE THAT PROVIDE INCLUSION OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEAF PEOPLE IN EDUCATIONAL, VOCATIONAL, AND RELIGIOUS SETTINGS. THE FOUNDATION HAS FUNDED PROGRAMS TO TRAIN LUTHERAN PASTORS AND LAY PEOPLE TO INCLUDE DEAF PEOPLE IN THEIR CONGREGATIONS. THE FOUNDATION AND ITS VALUED DONORS HAVE ALSO PROVIDED ANNUAL SUPPORT TO THE MILL NECK MANOR SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF, THE MILL NECK MANOR EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER, MILL NECK SERVICES, AND LUTHERAN FRIENDS OF THE DEAF, INC. THE ORGANIZATIONS FUNDED BY THE FOUNDATION PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE HEARING IMPAIRED AND PROVIDE A TREMENDOUS LEVEL OF SOCIAL IMPACT THAT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF THE FOUNDATION.
MANOR HOUSE - PROVIDES TOURS OF THE MANOR HOUSE WHICH WAS THE ORIGINAL MILL NECK MANOR SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF. THE TOURS NOT ONLY SHARE THE HISTORY OF THE FORMER OWNER BUT SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL, MILL NECK SERVICES, AND THE ISSUES FACING THOSE WHO ARE HEARING IMPAIRED. THE MANOR HOUSE IS ALSO USED BY MOVIE AND TV FILM CREWS. THE FUNDS ARE USED TO SUPPORT THE MAINTENANCE OF THE BUILDING.
