OPERATING UNDER THE NAME MJHS FOUNDATION, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO DELIVER ON ITS PHILANTHROPIC ROOTS WHICH DATE BACK TO 1907 WHEN THE FOUR BROOKLYN LADIES ESTABLISHED THE CHARITABLE NOT-FOR-PROFIT TO CARE FOR THE FRAIL ELDERLY IN THE COMMUNITY. BASED ON THE ORIGINAL CORE VALUES OF COMPASSION, DIGNITY AND RESPECT, MJHS FOUNDATION RAISES FUNDS TO PROVIDE HEALTH AND HEALTH RELATED SERVICES, THAT ARE NOT REIMBURSED BY GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS OR PRIVATE INSURANCE. TODAY, THE AFFILIATED AGENCIES OF MJHS HEALTH SYSTEM PROVIDE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES, SUCH AS HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE FOR CHILDREN AS WELL AS ADULTS, AND CARE FOR PEOPLE OF ALL ECONOMIC, RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS AS WELL AS GENDER IDENTITY, SEXUAL PREFERENCE AND MILITARY STATUS. MJHS FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES SEED MONEY TO MEMBER AGENCIES FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE AND HEALTH OUTCOMES WHILE MANAGING COSTS. FUNDING COMES FROM GRATEFUL FAMILIES, GRANTS, CORPORATE AND PRIVATE DONORS AS WELL AS LAYY LEADERSHIP AND STAFF.
