TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO CHARITABLE HEALTH CARE INITIATIVES.

OPERATING UNDER THE NAME MJHS FOUNDATION, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO DELIVER ON ITS PHILANTHROPIC ROOTS WHICH DATE BACK TO 1907 WHEN THE FOUR BROOKLYN LADIES ESTABLISHED THE CHARITABLE NOT-FOR-PROFIT TO CARE FOR THE FRAIL ELDERLY IN THE COMMUNITY. MJHS FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO RAISING THE FUNDS NECESSARY TO OFFSET THE COSTS OF HEALTH AND HEALTH-RELATED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OFFERED BY THE AFFILIATED AGENCIES OF MJHS HEALTH SYSTEM THAT ARE NOT COVERED OR FULLY REIMBURSED BY GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS OR PRIVATE INSURANCE. TODAY, THE AFFILIATED AGENCIES OF MJHS PROVIDE HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN, SKILLED NURSING THROUGH TWO CENTERS FOR REHABILITATION AND NURSING CARE, HOME CARE AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE OF ALL ECONOMIC, RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS AS WELL AS GENDER IDENTITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND MILITARY STATUS. MJHS FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES SEED MONEY TO MEMBER AGENCIES FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE AND HEALTH OUTCOMES WHILE MANAGING COSTS. FUNDING COMES FROM GRATEFUL FAMILIES, GRANTS, CORPORATE AND PRIVATE DONORS AS WELL AS LAY LEADERSHIP AND STAFF.
