PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF POISONING: AMERICA'S POISON CENTERS MAINTAINS A NATIONAL TOLL-FREE NUMBER, POISON HELP WEBSITE, AND NEAR-REAL-TIME DATABASE AND SURVEILLANCE CAPABILITIES FOR POISONING AND TOXIC EXPOSURES. WE ALSO SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY. THESE RESOURCES ARE RELIED UPON BY LOCAL AND FEDERAL AGENCIES AS WELL AS PRIVATE ENTITIES. THESE ORGANIZATIONS, IN CONCERT WITH AMERICA'S POISON CENTERS, ARE FOCUSED ON POSITIVELY IMPACTING THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF POISONING.


EDUCATION/OUTREACH: OUR NATIONAL MISSION OF EDUCATION, PREVENTION, AND TREATMENT OF TOXIC-RELATED INJURIES, INVOLVES OUTREACH TO CONSTITUENCIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY (E.G., GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH, MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC, AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS). WE REGULARLY EDUCATE AND REACH OUT TO DIVERSE GROUPS AROUND OUR MISSION, OUR SERVICES, AND THE NATION'S POISON PREVENTION INFRASTRUCTURE.
