KENT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT (KVFD) IS DEDICATED TO THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF LIFE, LIMB AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE AND OTHER HAZARDS IN ITS COMMUNITY. THE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES FIRE, RESCUE, AND AMBULANCE SERVICES TO THE TOWN OF KENT.

KVFD RESPONDED TO MANY FIRES, ALARMS AND MUTUAL AID CALLS AND MEDICAL911 EMERGENCY CALLS DURING THE YEAR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DELIVERS FIREAND AMBULANCE MUTUAL AID TO SURROUNDING TOWNS IN BOTH CONNECTICUT ANDNEIGHBORING NEW YORK STATE. IN ADDITION TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICESPROVIDED, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDUCTED TRAINING AND DRILL SESSIONS FORVOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS AND AMBULANCE PERSONNEL. KVFD ALSO RAN MONTHLYFIRE DEPARTMENT, AMBULANCE AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS. KVFD JOINEDA CONNECTICUT STATE PROGRAM IN 2014 WHICH MAKES THE TOWN OF KENT A HEART-SAFE COMMUNITY, AND HAS CONTINUED ITSCOMMITMENT BY INSTITUTING A PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES IMPROVED CARDIACRESPONSE UTILIZING CHAIN OF SURVIVAL FOR EARLY 911 ACCESS,CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION, DEFIBRILLATION AND ADVANCED CARE AS WELLAS CPR TRAINING IN PUBLIC CLASSES AND TOWN-WIDE FUNCTIONS.
