AS THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC WORSENED AND CONTINUED TO RELY ON THE LABOR OF GRASSROOTS WOMEN TO CARE FOR & PROTECT THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES IN 2021, HUAIROU'S SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITY WAS PROVIDING FLEXIBLE PROGRAM MONIES TO GRASSROOTS WOMEN LED MEMBER GROUPS TO RUN FOOD SECURITY, CARE WORK AND OTHER MUTUAL SELF-HELP RESILIENCE EFFORTS. FIFTY TWO (52) LOCAL WOMEN-LED ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED $1,355,068 TO FORMALIZE THEIR PUBLIC ROLES IN RECOVERY (92% IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA, ASIA, LATIN AMERICA & THE CARIBBEAN).
