IN 2021, ON THE GROUND CONTINUED TO INSTITUTE THE UN-APPROVED GENDER ACTION LEARNING SYSTEM IMPLEMENTED IN THE SOUTH KIVU REGION OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO. CONGOLESE HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAMS EDUCATED MEN AND WOMEN IN GENDER EQUITY PRINCIPLES AND HELPED THEM ENROLL IN CREDIT AND SAVINGS GROUPS. ALSO, WE PARTICIPATED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONGOLESE COFFEE CUPPING COMPETITION, SAVUER DE KIVU, WHICH INCREASED GLOBAL COFFEE INDUSTRY PARTICIPATION IN THE CONGOLESE COFFEE SECTOR AND RESULTED IN INCREASED ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR THE INHABITANTS OF THE REGION. MANY COFFEE PRODUCING GROUPS WERE REPRESENTED, EACH OF WHICH HAS HUNDREDS OF CONTRIBUTING FARMERS. COFFEES ROASTER AND BUYERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE WORLD ATTENDED TO ESTABLISH COMMERCIAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH CONGOLESE GROWERS AND COOPERATIVES. ALSO IS THE SOUTH KIVU REGION, OTG ASSISTED IN A PROGRAM THAT IDENTIFIED VICTIMS OF UNEXPLODED ORDINANCE AND HELPED TO OUTFIT THEM WITH PROSTHETIC LIMBS. IN CHIAPAS, MEXICO, OTG CONTINUED THE AGRONOMY TRAINING PROJECT IN WHICH AGRONOMISTS TRAIN COFFEE GROWERS IN DISEASE MITIGATION AND OTHER TECHNIQUES TO INCREASE THE VIABILITY AND QUALITY OF THEIR CROP. OTG HOSTED ANOTHER DELEGATION TO TOUR CHIAPAS.
