2021 WAS A YEAR OF GROWTH AND ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR THE PUBLIC'S RADIO, HIGHLIGHTED BY THE LAUNCH OF OUR INVESTIGATIVE DESK AND OUR ENVIRONMENT AND SCIENCE DESK, AND THE OFFICAL OPENING OF THE SOUTH COUNTY BUREAU IN WESTERLY. OUR AUDIENCE ACROSS BOTH BROADCAST AND DIGITAL PLATFORMS SAW SIGNIFICANT GROWTH, AND THE PUBLIC'S RADIO JOURNALISTS WERE RECOGNIZED WITH A RECORD NUMBER OF REGIONAL AND NATIONAL AWARDS FOR THE ENTERPRISE AND INVESTIGATIVE WORK IN 2020 THAT IS AT THE CORE OF OUR MISSION AT THE PUBLIC'S RADIO.IT WAS ALSO A CRUCIAL YEAR OF PLANNING, IN WHICH WE BEGAN IDENTIFYING KEY PRIORITIES FOR BUILDING CAPACITY AT THE PUBLIC'S RADIO, TO SIGNIFICANTLY EXPAND OUR REACH INTO DIGITAL JOURNALISM, AND DEEPEN OUR COMMITMENT TO LONG-TERM, ENTERPRISE AND INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM WITH A STRONG ENGAGEMENT COMPONENT. KEY PRIORITIES ARE TO REBUILD OUR CURRENT WEBSITE, THEREBY DEEPENING OUR DIGITAL INVESTMENT, HIRE A METRO DESK REPORTED TO COVER THE DIVERSE COMMUNITIES OF THE PROVIDENCE METROPOLITAN AREA, AND FIND SUPPORT TO CONTINUE MOSIAC, OUR FLAGSHIP PODCAST SERIES. WE ARE ALSO DEVELOPING A STRONGER MODEL FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH A PLAN FOR CAPACITY-BUILDING TO IMPLEMENT IT.
