TO PROVIDE FOR PUBLIC CELEBRATION, CONCERT, AND FIREWORKS ON JULY 4TH. KEITH LOCKHART LED THE BOSTON POPS ESPLANADE ORCHESTRA IN THE ORGANIZATION'S JOYOUS CELEBRATION OF THE COUNTRY'S INDEPENDENCE AT THE HATCH SHELL. MORE THAN 300,000 PEOPLE ENJOYED THE CONCERT, INCLUDING VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. SPECIAL GUESTS INCLUDED COUNTRY WESTERN DUO LO CASH, THE R&B VOCALISTS EN VOGUE, BROADWAY SINGER AND ACTRESS MANDY GONZALEZ, BROADWAY STARS, ALTON FITZGERALD WHITE, ELIZABETH STANLEY, AND ANDREA JONES-SOJOLA SANG EXCERPTS FROM RAGTIME: THE SYMPHONIC CONCERT, AND THE U.S. ARMY FIELD BAND AND SOLDIERS' CHORUS. THESE PERFORMERS ADDED TO THE INSPIRING CELEBRATION OF THE AMERICAN SPIRIT AND GRIT. THE WIDE-RANGING MUSIC INCLUDED PATRIOTIC SING-ALONGS, TRIBUTES TO VETERANS IN THE AUDIENCE, BROADWAY HITS. THE CONCERT CAME TO A ROUSING CONCLUSION WITH A PERFORMANCE OF TCHAIKOFSKY'S 1812 OVERTURE WITH LIVE CANNONS FOLLOWED BY A HALF HOUR FIREWORKS DISPLAY. THE SHOW WAS BROADCAST LIVE ON WHDH-TV AND BLOOMBERG TV AND COULD BE STREAMED ON BLOOMBERG.COM THROUGH THE END OF JULY.
