THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE, WOMEN'S DEVELOPMENT, CHILD WELFARE, JOB TRAINING, COTTAGE INDUSTRY, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN AN IMPOVERISHED SECTION OF SOUTH INDIA.

PANDEMIC RELIEF - PROVIDED FUNDS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS, HEALTHCARE, CULTURAL EXCHANGE, CARE FOR THE ELDERLY AND NEEDY, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. DURING THE DELTA COVID SURGE IN PARTICULAR, FOOD AND OTHER ESSENTIALS WERE REGULARLY DISTRIBUTED TO VULNERABLE GROUPS (MIGRANT WORKERS, CHILDREN, DAILY WAGE WORKERS, AND WIDOWS). 65 OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS AND 8000 N95 MASKS WERE DONATED, AND VACCINATION CLINICS WERE SET UP THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT.
SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP - PROVIDED TUITION, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, UNIFORMS, MEALS AND MEDICAL CARE FOR 73 STUDENTS. ALSO PROVIDED A GRANT FOR THE HYBRID LEARNING PROJECT, TO DEVELOP AN ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM THAT BLENDS WITH IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION, BOTH DURING AND AFTER THE PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN.
OM SHANTHI WIDOWS PROJECT - PROVIDED FOOD, MEDICAL CARE AND HOUSING FOR 30 ABANDONED ELDERLY WIDOWS; PROVIDED JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT, MEDICAL CARE AND COUNSELING FOR 175 YOUNG WIDOWS, ALONG WITH SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION AND MEDICAL CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN (250). GAVE COWS TO 27 WOMEN SO THEY COULD FEED THEIR FAMILIES AND GENERATE INCOME. ARUNA DESIGNS CONTINUED TO HAVE STRONG SALES OF THE GOODS MADE BY THE WOMEN'S CRAFT COOPERATIVE, PROVIDING STEADY INCOME TO YOUNG WIDOWS DURING THE PANDEMIC. ALSO PROVIDED A SCHOLARSHIP TO A DESERVING MEDICAL STUDENT.
