ANNUAL CONVENTION & EXPO: THE ANNUAL CONVENTION & EXPO BRINGS TOGETHER HUMAN SERVICE LEADRERS, PROFESSIONALS, ELECTED OFFICIALS, BUSINESSES AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. IT IS CONSIDERED THE LARGEST OF ITS TYPE IN THE NORTHEAST. WE SEEK TO STRENGTHEN THE HUMAN SERVICE WORKFORCE THROUGH WORKSHOPS AND TO CELEBRATE THE SECTOR'S ACCOMPLISHEMENTS, OVER 1,000 PEOPLE REGISTERED FOR THIS 3 DAY VIRTUAL EVENT, INCLUDING 27 WORKSHOPS, SOME OF WHICH PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS TO ELIGIBLE HUMAN SERVICE PROFESSIONALS AND INFORM OTHER ATTENDEES. THE ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING IS CONDUCTED TO COMPLETE THE CORPORATE BUSINESS OF THE PROVIDERS' COUNCIL. BUSINESS CONDUCTED INCLUDES ELECTING OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS OF THE CORPORATION, ACCEPTING THE TREASURER'S REPORT, MAKING AMENDMENTS TO THE BY-LAWS (IF NECESSARY), HEARING THE ANNUAL REPORT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, ATTENDING TO SUCH OTHER BUSINESS AS MAY COME BEFORE THE MEETING. THE MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, THOUGH ONLY THE MEMBERSHIP CAN VOTE. UPON CONCLUSION OF THE MEETING, THERE IS TYPICALLY A LUNCHEON FORUM AND PRESENTATIONS WHICH ARE OF VALUE TO THE MEMBERS PRESENT.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: CERTIFICATE IN SUPERVISION TRAINING SERIES PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS (6 SESSIONS OF 3 HOURS EACH) TO SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION, LEADERSHIP, CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT, DECISION MAKING, GROUP PLANNING AND TEAM BUILDING SKILLS. IN 2021, APPROXIMATELY 104 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN THIS SERIES, AND A CERTIFICATE WAS GIVEN TO THE INDIVIDUALS WHO COMPLETED THE SERIES. ALONG WITH THE SUPERVISION TRAINING SERIES, 25 OTHER TRAINING COURSES, SEMINARS AND WEBINARS WERE OFFERED. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO OUR TUITION REMISSION PROGRAM, GRADUATE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS, E-LEARNING (ONLINE LEARNING WITH OVER 52,500 LEARNERS) AND OTHER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. THE COUNCIL INTRODUCED AND SUPPPORTED CONTENT FOR LEARNING MORE ABOUT RACIAL EQUITY INITIATIVES, ANTI-RACISM AND SUPPORTING SOCIAL JUSTICE.
