GOODWILL PROVIDES JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS, PARTICULARLY THE PIONEER VALLEY. GOODWILL'S MISSION SERVICES HELPED INDIVIDUALS WHO FACED BARRIERS TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY PREPARE FOR THE WORKPLACE AND CREATE MORE REWARDING AND INDEPENDENT LIVES. IN THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2019, GOODWILL'S PROGRAMS SERVED 197 INDIVIDUALS. PLACEMENT ORIENTED JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS ENROLLED 71 INDIVIDUALS CONSIDERED HARDEST TO EMPLOY AND HELPED 54 FIND JOBS. IN ADDITION, GOODWILL OFFERED EMPLOYMENT SERVICES AND DAY PROGRAMS TO 102 INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL AND OTHER DISABILITIES AND ADULT FOSTER CARE SERVICES TO 24.
THE RETAIL PROGRAM IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE THAT BENEFITS THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING JOB TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT; CREATING JOBS; AND MAKING QUALITY, LOW-COST GOODS AVAILABLE SO THAT INDIVIDUALS, PARTICULARLY THOSE OF LIMITED MEANS, GET THE ITEMS THEY NEED AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. IN THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2019, GOODWILL'S RETAIL PROGRAM OPERATED 7 GOODWILL STORES THROUGHOUT THE PIONEER VALLEY. THE RETAIL PROGRAM PROVIDED JOBS AND JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN SORTING, PREPARING AND DISTRIBUTING DONATED CLOTHING, AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS. THE RETAIL PROGRAM PROVIDED WORK EXPERIENCE AND A PAYCHECK FOR 93 INDIVIDUALS.
