YWCA YOUTH SERVICES: YWKIDS SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM SERVES FAMILIES IN NEED ACKNOWLEDGE, RESPECT AND DESIGN WAYS TO ACCOMMODATE THE UNIQUENESS OF EACH CHILD SO THAT ALL MAY REACH THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL. YWKIDS SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM IS LICENSED BY THE MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE. GIRLS EXCLUSIVE IS AN EXCITING PROGRAM FOR GIRLS AGE 10- 14. GIRLS EXPLORE THEIR SELF+IDENTITY, LEARN ABOUT NUTRITION, MAINTAINING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, LEARNING ABOUT BEING HOME ALONE, BABYSITTING, ETIQUETTE, SELF+ESTEEM, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND RACIAL JUSTICE. THE PROGRAM MOTIVATES GIRLS TO STAY IN SCHOOL AND APPLY THEMSELVES TO THEIR STUDIES TO THE BEST OF THEIR INDIVIDUAL ABILITY. THEY LEARN ABOUT CAREERS AND THE NECESSARY EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING AND ECONOMIC ADVANCEMENT.
ALSO PROVIDED IS A WIDOWED PERSONS PROGRAM, HEALTH AND WELLNESS INCLUDES HEALTH PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES WITH AN EMPHASIS ON BREAST, COLON, PROSTATE AND CERVICAL CANCER PREVENTION, DIABETES, CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, COVID VACCINE ACCESS AND NUTRITION. RESIDENTIAL SERVICES INCLUDES SINGLE ROOM OCCUPANCY LIVING FACILITIES FOR LOW-INCOME WOMEN AGE 18 AND OVER AT A WOMAN'S PLACE AND ANOTHER WOMAN'S PLACE. ADVOCACY RELATED TO MENSTRUAL ACCESS, AFFORDABLE CHILD CARE AND OTHER ISSUES RELATED TO WOMAN AND GIRLS. OUR MISSION IMPACT PROGRAMMING FOCUSES ON WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT, FINANCIAL LITERACY, ANTI RACISM TRAINING AND LGBTQ+ TRAINING.
