INSTRUCTION - UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS: SIMMONS IS A PRIVATE, NONSECTARIAN INSTITUTION LOCATED IN BOSTON'S FENWAY AREA, AND CURRENTLY SERVES 1,924 UNDERGRADUATE INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE ASSIGNED FEMALE AT BIRTH, SELF-IDENTIFY AS WOMEN, OR DO NOT FIT INTO THE GENDER BINARY BUT WHO FEEL THEY BELONG IN A COMMUNITY OF WOMEN. DURING THE 2022 ACADEMIC YEAR, THE UNIVERSITY CONFERRED 414 BACCALAUREATE DEGREES. INSTRUCTION INCLUDES EXPENDITURES FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM AS WELL AS FINANCIAL AID PROVIDED BY THE UNIVERSITY TO STUDENTS IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS. APPROXIMATELY 98% OF UNDERGRADUATES RECEIVED FINANCIAL AID IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIPS OR GRANTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY.
INSTRUCTION - GRADUATE PROGRAMS: SIMMONS CURRENTLY SERVES 5,257 STUDENTS IN GRADUATE PROGRAMS AT THE MASTER AND DOCTORAL LEVELS. THE UNIVERSITY'S GRADUATE PROGRAMS ARE CO-EDUCATIONAL. THESE PROGRAMS ARE HOUSED IN THE COLLEGE OF ORGANIZATIONAL, COMPUTATIONAL, AND INFORMATION SCIENCES (LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE AND BUSINESS), COLLEGE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, POLICY, AND PRACTICE (SOCIAL WORK AND PUBLIC POLICY), THE COLLEGE OF NATURAL, BEHAVIORAL, AND HEALTH SCIENCES (BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS, HEALTH PROFESSIONS EDUCATION, NURSING, NUTRITION, PHYSICAL THERAPY) AND IN THE GWEN IFILL COLLEGE OF MEDIA, ARTS AND HUMANITIES (CHILDREN'S LITERATURE, GENDER AND SOCIAL STUDIES, HISTORY). THE UNIVERSITY OFFERS ONLINE PROGRAMS IN NURSING, SOCIAL WORK, BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS, AND PUBLIC HEALTH REACHING ALL FIFTY STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND CANADA. DURING THE 2022 ACADEMIC YEAR, THE UNIVERSITY CONFERRED 1,520 GRADUATE DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES. INSTRUCTION INCLUDES EXPENDITURES FOR THE GRADUATE PROGRAMS AS WELL AS FINANCIAL AID.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND STUDENT SERVICES - INCLUDES EXPENDITURES FOR ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORT AND ENHANCE THE STUDENT'S EDUCATION, AS WELL AS CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING. INCLUDED IN THIS CATEGORY IS THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY WHICH HOUSES OVER 150,000 PRINT VOLUMES, SUBSCRIBES TO AND/OR PROVIDES ACCESS TO 135,000 E-JOURNALS, 260,000 E-BOOKS, AND 136 ELECTRONIC DATABASES FOR ARTICLES, REFERENCE CONTENT, STATISTICS AND BEYOND. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022, STUDENTS CHECKED OUT 750 BOOKS AND COURSE RESERVE ITEMS WITH DIGITAL CIRCULATION OF 140,000 TITLES. ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS CATEGORY IS THE UNIVERSITY'S HEALTH CENTER WHOSE STAFF HANDLED 3,435 STUDENT/PATIENT VISITS DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022. ANOTHER COMPONENT OF THIS CATEGORY IS THE CAREER EDUCATION CENTER WHICH HAD 2,223 STUDENT CONTACTS DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022 THROUGH MULTIPLE CHANNELS.
