WE SERVE STUDENTS OF ALL FAITHS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED THE POTENTIAL AND MOTIVATION TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS AND WHO DO NOT HAVE THE EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND OR FINANCIAL MEANS TO ATTEND ANOTHER PRIVATE, COLLEGE-PREP SCHOOL. CRISTO REY NEW YORK HIGH SCHOOL (CRNYHS) IS A CATHOLIC, CO-ED, COLLEGE-PREP SCHOOL, PART OF THE NATIONAL CRISTO REY NETWORK OF 38 SCHOOLS. WE SERVE STUDENTS OF ALL FAITHS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED THE POTENTIAL AND MOTIVATION TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS AND WHO DO NOT HAVE THE EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND OR FINANCIAL MEANS TO ATTEND ANOTHER PRIVATE, COLLEGE-PREP SCHOOL. WE CHALLENGE ALL OUR STUDENTS WITH A RIGOROUS ACADEMIC CURRICULUM AND A DEMANDING WORK-INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. OUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS THAT OUR STUDENTS WILL GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE AND BECOME PROFESSIONALS FOR OTHERS, TRANSFORMING THE WORLD FOR THE GOOD OF THEIR FAMILIES AND SOCIETY.THIS YEAR, CRISTO REY NEW YORK'S 349-PERSON STUDENT BODY IS 81% HISPANIC, 14% AFRICAN AMERICAN, AND 6% OTHER ETHNICITIES. THE AVERAGE FAMILY INCOME OF OUR STUDENTS IS $33,097, WITH AN ADJUSTED AVAILABLE INCOME OF ($1,239). SIXTY-FOUR PERCENT (64%) OF OUR STUDENTS COME FROM SINGLE-PARENT HOMES, AND SEVENTY-TWO PERCENT (72%) OF OUR STUDENT BODY IS ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH.NINETY-EIGHT PERCENT (97%) OF CRNYHS' 1,203 ALUMNI HAVE ENROLLED IN COLLEGE, WHICH IS DOUBLE THE RATE FOR LOW-INCOME STUDENTS. SIXTY FIVE PERCENT (64%) OF OUR GRADUATES HAVE EITHER ALREADY GRADUATED COLLEGE OR ARE ON TRACK TO GRADUATE, WHICH IS FOUR TIMES THE NATIONAL AVERAGE FOR LOW-INCOME STUDENTS. OUR STUDENTS HAVE ATTENDED SOME OF THE WORLD'S BEST SCHOOLS, INCLUDING PRINCETON UNIVERSITY, BROWN UNIVERSITY, UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, CORNELL UNIVERSITY, AND GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY.
