WORD RADIO EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION WAS ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM TO ESTABLISH NON-COMMERCIAL EDUCATIONAL CHRISTIAN RADIO BROADCASTING TO COMMUNITIES WITHIN THE REACH OF ITS RADIO BROADCASTING FACILITIES WHICH WOULD PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST AND TEACH JUDEO- CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES FOR LIFE. __THIS PROGRAM IS ACCOMPLISHED BY ITS OUTREACH THROUGH FOUR CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING STATIONS AND A WORD RADIO APP WORLDWIDE. THE WORD RADIO FLAGSHIP STATION WSEW 88.7 FM LICENSED TO SANFORD, MAINE, BROADCASTS TO POINTS IN SOUTHERN MAINE, SEACOAST AND INNER REGIONS OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, AND NORTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS ALONG THE I-95 CORRIDOR TO BOSTON. WORD RADIO LIFE FORMAT BROADCASTS ON WRKJ 88.5 FM GORHAM, MAINE, REACHING INTO THE WESTBROOK-PORTLAND AREA, AND WWPC 91.7 FM NEW DURHAM, NH REACHING THE LAKES AND TRI-CITY REGIONS OF NH. WORD RADIO POWER WMEK 88.1 FM, LICENSED TO KENNEBUNKPORT, MAINE, AND BROADCASTING FROM SANFORD, MAINE, HAS ADDED THOUSANDS IF NOT MILLIONS OF POTENTIAL LISTENERS, INCREASING COVERAGE ALONG THE COAST OF MAINE, DEEPER INTO SOUTHERN NH AND EXTENDING TO THE NORTHEAST BORDER OF MASSACHUSETTS. THE LICENSE OF OUR FIFTH STATION WAS TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER CHRISTIAN BROADCASTER IN THE OSSIPEE VALLEY, WHICH NOW RECEIVES THE STRONGER 88.1 FM SIGNAL. WORD RADIO IS COMMITTED TO EFFORTS TO MAKE DIVERSIFIED CHRISTIAN RADIO PROGRAMMING AVAILABLE IN REAL TIME AS WELL. EXTENSIVE OVERLAPPING PROGRAMMING OF THE SAME CONTENT IS TO BE AVOIDED, THEREFORE TO THIS END BECAUSE WMEK ESSENTIALLY PROVIDES REDUNDANT PROGRAMMING TO THE MOUNT WASHINGTON - OSSIPEE VALLEY AREAS, WORD RADIO HAS TRANSFERRED ITS OPERATING LICENSE TO ANOTHER AREA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTER WHICH PROVIDES SIMILAR BUT DIFFERENT NETWORK PROGRAMMING. THIS IS GOOD FOR LISTENERS OVERALL AS IT MAXIMIZES TYPES OF LISTENING OPPORTUNITY AT ANY GIVEN TIME ___THE SOURCE TO PROVIDE PROGRAMMING TO THREE FORMATS IS VIA MICROWAVE SIGNALS WITH REDUNDANT BACKUP SYSTEMS TO ENSURE THAT ALL WORD RADIO STATIONS OPERATE 24/7 WITHOUT INTERRUPTION.
