THE MISSION AND VISION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO FACILITATE AND IMPROVE COMMUNICATION CHANNELS AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE WELL-BEING OF THE MULTIETHNIC REFUGEE/IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY, HELPING THEM TO ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND ASSISTING THEM IN BECOMING PRODUCTIVE LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS THAT CAN PROPERLY INTEGRATE FOR A GREAT PATRIOTISM. THE SAUC HELP NEWLY ARRIVED FAMILIES ADJUST TO THEIR NEW LIVES, NEW LOCATION, NEW LANGUAGE AND NEW CULTURE.

THE PURPOSE OF THE FEDERAL GRANT IS TO SUPPORT ETHNIC COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION LEADERS WITH LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS, DIGITAL LITERACY, AND TO SUPPORT THEIR ORGANIZATIONS TO SERVE REFUGEES WITH ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE, CITIZENSHIP PREPARATION CLASSES, WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS AND YOUTH ENRICHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT. WE ALSO PROVIDE THEM WITH RESOURCES AND REFERRALS TO OTHER COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTERS. WE WORK WITH THE FOLLOWING SEVEN ORGANIZATIONS: BHUTANESE COMMUNITY OF ARIZONA, IRAQI COMMUNITY OF ARIZONA, CONGOLESE UNITED COMMUNITY OF ARIZONA, DARFUR COMMUNITY, SUDANESE AMERICAN HOUSE, SUDANESE AMERICAN HOUSE OF ARIZONA AND TUSAME GROUP ASSOCIATION.
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM RECEIVES FUNDING TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR ALL MULTI-ETHNIC REFUGEES IN MARICOPA COUNTY:- IMPROVED METHOD OF ENGLISH FOR SOMALI, AMHARIC, ARABIC, FARSI ANDSWAHILI SPEAKERS- EARLY LITERACY CLASSES- CITIZENSHIP AND NATURALIZATION PREPARATION CLASSES- WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS- YOUTH ENRICHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, INCLUDING LEADERS FOR LIFE.- COMMUNITY AWARENESS PRESENTATIONS AND TEEN ACADEMY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FBI, ASSISTING MULTI-ETHNIC REFUGEES TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS THAT CAN INTEGRATE FOR A GREAT PATRIOTISM.- COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH POLICE DEPARTMENT OF PHOENIX AND TEMPE: BRINGING THE MULTI-ETHNIC REFUGEE COMMUNITY & LAW ENFORCEMENT TOGETHER TO STRENGTHEN PUBLIC SAFETY FOR ALL.
