THROUGH OUR SHELTER AID PROGRAM WE PROVIDE SUPPORT TO VARIOUS MIGRANT SHELTERS IN TIJUANA BAJA CALIFORNIA AND MEXICO. WE PROVIDE FUNDING TO HELP COVER THE COST OVERRENT UTILITIES SHELTER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AND FOOD FOR SHELTER RESIDENTS. THIS SUPPORT HAS BECOME MORE CRUCIAL TO MIGRANT SURVIVAL AND WELL-BEING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE PANDEMIC HAS LIMITED CROSS BORDER TRAVEL AND MOST ORGANIZATIONS THAT PREVIOUSLY WORKED IN TIJUANA SUCH AS FAIL-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND OUR OWN CARAVANS OF LOVE HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY HALTED LEAVING FAMILIES WITHOUT THE DONATIONS THAT THEY ONCE RELIED ON. OUR SHELTER AID PROGRAM ASSISTS OVER 900 MIGRANTS DAILY SUPPORTING 15 DIFFERENT MIGRANT SHELTERS IN TIJUANA.
GROUPS OF VOUNTEERS LEAVE BOTTLES OF WATER IN THE DESERT TO PREVENT DEATH BY THIRST OF BORDER CROSSERS. BORDER ANGELS HAS LEFT THOUSANDS OF GALLONS OF WATER IN THE DESERT ALONG PATHS MOST COMMONLY TRAVELED BY MIGRANTS.
ON EVERY FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH WE VISIT TWO SITES WHERE DAY LABORERS CONGREAGATE AND WE PROVIDE THEM WITH FOOD WATER CLOTHES AND HYGIENE PRODUCTS. OUR PROGRAMS GOAL IS TO PROVIDE MORAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND TO DOCUMENT THEIR STORIES. WE ALSO PROVIDE FREE IMMIGRATION AND EMPLOYEE RIGHTS CONSULTATIONS TO THOSE IN NEED.
