TO SUPPORT FAMILIES WITH A BABY ON THE WAY OR A NEWBORN AT HOME THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF HOME VISITNG PARENT EDUCATORS PROVIDING IN-HOME VISITS AND TO BUILD A CARING COMMUNITY FOR ALL FAMILIES.

PARENT PROGRAM OF MID-COAST MAINE SERVES FAMILIES WITH A BABY ON THE WAY OR A NEWBORN AT HOME (MOTHERS AND FATHERS) AT TIME OF REFERRAL UP UNTIL 3 YEARS OLD IN KNOX, LINCOLN, AND SAGADAHOC COUNTIES AS WELL AS THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY TOWNS OF BRUNSWICK, HARPSWELL, FREEPORT, YARMOUTH, CUMBERLAND AND FALMOUTH, MAINE. MONIES ARE RECEIVED FROM A GRANT WITH THE STATE OF MAINE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES THROUGH THE MAINE CHILDREN'S TRUST. ALL GRANT MONIES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BOARD TO SPEND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANDATES OF THE GRANT. THIS FUNDING PROVIDES SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR TEN PROFESSIONALS(SEVEN PARENT EDUCATORS, ONE PROGRAM MANAGER, ONE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR AND ONE SPLIT POSITION PARENT EDUCATOR/SUPERVISOR) AND RELATED PROGRAM EXPENSES. ALL STAFF ARE EMPLOYEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE. THERE IS A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE EXPLAINING THIS FISCAL AGREEMENT.
