GEAR UP PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATION HAS CONTRACTED AS A PASS THROUGH ENTITY WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE AT FARMINGTON TO ADMINISTER THE GAINING EARLY AWARENESS AND READINESS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS (GEAR UP) PROGRAM. GEAR UP PROVIDES SUPPORT AND MAINTAINS A COMMITMENT TO ELIGIBLE LOW-INCOME STUDENTS, INCLUDING STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES, HELPS STUDENTS OBTAIN A SECONDARY SCHOOL DIPLOMA (OR ITS EQUIVALENT) AND PREPARES STUDENTS FOR, AND TO SUCCEED IN, POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION. ALL GEAR UP PROJECTS PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES INCLUDING MENTORING, TUTORING, ACADEMIC AND CAREER COUNSELING, SERVICES TO INCREASE PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT, AND OTHER COLLEGE PREPARATION ACTIVITIES LIKE EXPOSURE TO COLLEGE CAMPUSES AND FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE.


JMG PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATION HAS CONTRACTED WITH JOBS FOR MAINE GRADUATES (JMG) TO PROVIDE EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND THE MAINE CAREER EXPLORATION BADGE PROGRAM TO STUDENTS IN GRADES 11 AND 12 IN THE RURAL, ECONOMICALLY - DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES OF THE KATAHDIN REGION.
