OUTREACH PROGRAMS - MAINE STATE BALLET OFFERS BALLET AND VARIOUS DANCE/MUSICAL THEATER PRODUCTIONS TO A DIVERSE COMMUNITY AUDIENCE ON A REGULAR AND AFFORDABLE BASIS. IT PROVIDES FREE TICKETS TO PERFORMANCES FOR HUNDREDS OF LOCAL UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILIES, AND FREE SHORT-TERM DANCE CLASSES TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS. ADDITIONALLY, MAINE STATE BALLET OFFERS A PAID TEACHING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL DANCERS WHO ASSIST PROFESSIONALS IN CLASSROOM TEACHING.


SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS - THE MAINE STATE BALLET SCHOOL FOR PERFORMING ARTS OFFERS INSTRUCTION IN BALLET, JAZZ, TAP, AND MUSICAL THEATRE TO OVER 450 STUDENTS OF PRESCHOOL THROUGH ADULT AGES. MSB OFFERS APPROXIMATELY $20,000 IN TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS ANNUALLY TO STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEED, DANCERS WITH PROMISE, AND COMPANY MEMBERS.
